The Health Benefits of Garlic in this Garlic Sauce for Chicken

Consuming garlic appears to naturally boost the body’s supply hydrogen sulfide and be both proxidant and antioxidant.

In this study performed by the University of Alabama at Birmingham, researchers studied the impact of garlic on human blood cells. The study performed an extraction of juice from supermarket garlic and added small amounts of human red blood cells. The cells immediately began to emit hydrogen sulfide, the scientists found.

What’s so Powerful about Hydrogen Sulfide?

So glad you asked! Natural hydrogen sulfide (h2s) production with the body can likely explain why people with a diet rich in fresh garlic are protected against serious diseases. Such as various cancers including breast, prostate and color. Higher levels of hydrogen sulfide might also protect the heart. Those same researches at the University of Alabama found that the mice studied almost completely prevented heart muscle damage by a heart attach.

Garlic consumption is so important for overall heart health. Something that America should definitely get on board with. In Italy and Korea they consumed a garlic-rich diet by consuming 8-12 cloves per day. However, research shows about 10 grams of garlic a day (about 3 or 4 cloves) will give you significant health benefits.

One thing is for sure, using this delicious garlic sauce for chicken on your recipes makes it that much easier to get the 3 or 4 daily garlic clove quota!

How to Make the Perfect Garlic Sauce for Chicken

This garlic sauce for chicken is such an easy recipe that I’ve continued to make it throughout the week without the recipe card. I have started to toss in a bit of this and a lot of that. I also taste this recipe on fresh cut cucumbers while I’m preparing it.

#1: Use a Single Mixing Bowl

The best part about this recipe is that we are only using a mini batter bowl and a whisk. I love this Mini Batter Bowl from Pampered Chef because it holds about 4 cups but also comes with a fitted lid for storing in the fridge.

#2: Buy a Really Great Garlic Press

For mincing garlic – it doesn’t get any easier than this garlic press. I’ve had mine for over 10 years and it makes perfectly minced garlic for all of your garlicky-recipes. With the amount of garlic we mince into recipes each week, this is a time saver and is so easy to clean too.

#3: Dried Onion or Minced Onion

I’ve not made this recipe for garlic sauce for chicken with minced onion yet because the onion powder was easy to grab the first time I made this. If you love onion though, please feel free to swap this ingredient out for minced Spanish onion, to taste.

A delicious garlic sauce on the Mediterranean Chicken recipe. I think it would be very good on other meats as well. I used coconut yogurt but next time I will use almond yogurt for a creamier texture. Thank you, I enjoy your recipes!
