If you are looking to improve your overall wellness by making changes in your lifestyle, we really think taking the time to create a “Healthy Living Vision Board” will go a long way towards helping you reach your goals. It’s the perfect way to start a New Year, or a new chapter in life!
One of the most important steps to improving your overall health and wellness is to simply plug new healthy routines into your day and stick with them until they become habits. Before you know it, one good new habit leads to another and then another. The newt thing you know, living healthfully becomes second nature. Trust us, this really does actually happen!
For example, if you start to make a conscious effort to eat more fruits and vegetables and you create a concrete action plan for doing so (such as making a commitment to drink a green smoothie, eat a large salad, have a fruit with breakfast, eat a large serving of vegetables with dinner, have fruit with dessert, etc.) then you inevitably start to crowd out less healthy foods. You soon start to have more energy. If you have excess pounds to lose, you notice your pants start to feel a bit looser. Your aches and pains start to ease up and you begin to finally feel like you have the energy to exercise. Once you start exercising you start to sleep better and so on. The cascade of new healthy habits all start with the commitment to change just one thing.
Creating a “Healthy Living Vision Board” can be a powerful tool to help you reboot your habits…
What is a Vision Board?
A vision board is a tool used to help clarify, focus and motivate you to achieve a specific life goal. You can create a vision board for any aspect of your life, career, marriage and family, travel, etc. For the purpose of completing the Clean Cuisine Challenge we want you to create a vision board for healthy living.
All you need to do is get a big board and then get to work cutting out images that represent how you want to improve your health over the next year. And believe it or not, if you put your vision down on the board, your brain will subconsciously work towards helping you achieve your goals, dreams and ideal healthy lifestyle.
Creating a healthy living vision board is probably one of the most powerful visualization tools available to you as seeing your personal vision board on a daily basis will be a constant reminder of the direction you want to go and the things you will do to get there.
Sabina Bolin sums it all up beautifully, “Vision boards are images and words collected and organized for the purpose of sparking your subconscious mind to create the life your soul desires, based on research that shows that your subconscious mind speaks more clearly in the language of images than that of words.”
How do You Envision Your Life?
We want you to put the healthy lifestyle you aspire to have all on one big board and then look at it every single day.
We want you to stay inspired and remember why you began this journey with us in the first place.
And most importantly, we want you to continue to reach your goals…
Healthy Living Vision Board Ideas
Is there something you always wanted to do, but didn’t have the extra energy to try?
Is there a new type of exercise program you would like to try such as dancing or karate? If so, maybe you could sign up for classes in your local area or buy some workout videos online?
Have you ever dreamed of taking a vacation focused entirely on healthy living?
Do you want to start learning how to cook better? Are there any healthy cookbooks you might want to buy?
Do you want to start taking control of stress in your life? Or do you want to make getting a good night’s sleep a priority? If so, start by getting to work cutting out images that will help you reach your goal.
The point is, if you have a daily visual reminder of what you want to accomplish, the chances are high you will manage to get around to actually doing it!
Staci Kresser’s Healthy Living Vision Board
Just to give you a few additional ideas, here is the healthy living vision board Staci Kresser created for herself below:
“Feeling Her Best” was the focus of Staci’s personal vision board. “Nourish and Heal” and “Live Your Best Life” were the biggest titles she cut out and then she built her board around those two central themes. Staci’s board is full of healthy words, hope, peace, family and a few pictures representing ‘dreams to build on’ for her and her husband.
And, because Staci has some neck and back issues due to a car accident, she wants to really concentrate on strengthening her body and keeping inflammation and stress at its lowest. Yoga is going to be her main focus for exercise so that she can gently strengthen her neck and back muscles and also control stress.
Cooking is another healthy lifestyle habit Staci would like to do more of. She is hoping to start creating more clean recipes for her family, other than just smoothies.
