Looking for a short 30-minute yoga flow video to start or end your day? Erin Lodeesen (RYT), Clean Cuisine’s “Ask Erin” and resident yoga expert, has created a 30-minute yoga sequence that will relax you while building strength and flexibility. Erin begins this workout with a yogic breathing technique and Chaturanga Dandasana (high to low plank) demo for beginners, but if you want to jump right into your flow, skip to minute 9:42.
Exercising Smart Instead of Hard
In true Clean Cuisine spirit, Erin is a huge believer in optimizing her workouts so that you receive the most bang for your buck. She believes in exercising smart with 3-5 yoga classes per week in lieu of long cardiovascular workouts and strength training routines. Erin believes that a 30-minute yoga flow will provide your body and mind with more benefit than a long run and some bicep curls.
Incorporating Your Core
Even though mostly every yoga posture focuses on engaging your core muscles, Erin includes a short core workout into each 30-minute yoga flow to isolate and strengthen your abdominal muscles even more. A strong core = better yoga practice. A better yoga practice = a better life!
No Equipment Necessary!
While Erin is partial to yoga mats with “a lot of grip and no slips” like Manduka and Jade mats, the best part about yoga is that you can do it just about anywhere with no equipment but some comfortable clothing and an open mind. If you don’t want to make an investment in a quality, sticky mat, a beach towel will suffice!
Namaste, yogis!
