Fitness Workout Program for Couples

I actually created this routine for the Chicago Tribune based on the fitness principles my husband and I talk about in our Clean Cuisine book and the workout from my Full Fitness Fusion DVD. Here is a sample of one of the exercises from the photo shoot we did at the beach (you can watch the full workout in the video below):

Fitness Workout for Couples

The fitness workout program I designed for couples combines full body, fully functional exercises into a short and time-efficient routine. All of my workouts are designed to be done in less than 30 minutes because I believe when it comes to fitness, quality matters more than quantity. The longer duration your workout, the more likely the quality of your movements and intensity is likely to decline.

The workout requires both partners to fully engage in functional muscle toning at all times, which means you can’t really cheat either. Both partners need to stay fully engaged or you’ll end up pulling your partner down onto the floor!

 

Get Your Heart Rate Elevated & Burn Calories Fast!

To get the most out of this fitness workout program you will want to move quickly from one exercise to the next. Doing so will keep your heart rate elevated and help you burn calories quickly while simultaneously strengthening and toning every major muscle in your body.

 

Activate Your Core Without a Single Crunch

Because most of the standing exercises challenge your balance you will be activating your core muscles and conditioning them in a more functional manner than if you just did isolated movement exercises (such as crunches.)

 

Building Strength through Stabilization

The workout also incorporates a good deal of isometric exercises, which are incredibly effective at building strength through stabilization.
