Healthy Snack Review: Just Plain Ola

Just walking down the aisles tonight at the grocery store, I took note of how much GRANOLA there is in this world. It’s granola-this and granola-that… which tells me, my family is definitely not the only ones that love a good bowl granola with almond milk, or sprinkled on top of our homemade coconut yogurt, or a handful for a quick snack.

So many of the granola’s out there claim to be “healthy”, but then you flip it over and there’s refined sugar in the first 3 ingredients. As we all know from Ivy’s past articles — cutting sugar is so important for our health and she even talks about it in this article about how to stop sugar cravings.

It’s important to flip everything over when you purchase because knowing what’s in your food is to your health benefit. So, back to granola.

A few months ago, we came across Just Plain Ola in our feed. Naturally, we scoured their website for ingredients. My favorite flavor of the three, still remains – the original cinnamon. Here’s the ingredients:

> pecans, almonds, sunflower seeds, maple syrup, coconut chips, natural vanilla flavor, cinnamon and sea salt.

The best part, there’s no gluten, no refined sugar, no dairy – no artificial ingredients and no fake anything. Using maple syrup as a sweetener is right up our ally.

Our pre-teen kids LOVE Just Plain Ola and eat a handful almost every day after school for a quick snack before soccer practice. Te uts and seeds are a perfect natural combination and the taste is out of this world.

We would suggest that you add some new your breakfast yogurt, pack it in a small container in your kids lunch or take it on your next road trip as an easy snack to grab in the car.

This grain free goodness just makes me smile.

Knowing I’m giving the kids a healthy and wholesome snack that is paleo, gluten free and delicious.

The best part is — after chatting with one this small business, they created a single product bundle of all 3 granolas just for all of you. But, guess what? Not only did they create a bundle, but then provided an automatic discount AND free shipping on this trio too.

We can’t resist — which means, I knew I had to share it with you. My kids are still in disbelief that it’s as good as it is – tastes better than any granola we’ve ever had… and it’s Clean Cuisine approved.

You can get your own variety bundle here.

Please come back and tell us how much you love it.
