If you’re looking for a refreshing, delicious cold drink, then this green apple smoothie is just the thing. Packed full of greens, this citrusy green smoothie will pack in the nutrients your body needs.

Boost Your Nutrients with this Green Apple Smoothie

There are two main reasons that you’ve not heard your doctor tell you about the benefits of a balanced nutrient-dense diet. Especially for those of us with autoimmune or inflammatory conditions, clean eating is actually quite essential.

1) Doctors are not taught nutrition in medical school and most of them simply do not know what an anti-inflammatory diet consists of.

2) There is no monetary incentive for the doctors or the pharmaceutical companies to promote nutrition.

But we are here to tell you, that if you are battling any kind of chronic inflammation or have an autoimmune disease, this smoothie is for you. Quite honestly, this is just the beginning but it’s a great place to start.

Green Smoothie Daily Challenge

All you need to do is drink a green smoothie everyday for one week in the interest of your own health and not for any other cause. Clean Cuisine has tons of delicious nutrient-packed recipes to choose from. Just select 2-3, write out the ingredients and make a plan to blend 1 big smoothie a day. Then, let us know how you feel. Yes, it’s that simple.

Why a Green Smoothie?

A green smoothie is made from blended “whole food” fruits and vegetables. This includes one of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet, dark leafy greens. We love Kale; you can learn more about it here. Of course, you can also try mache which just so happens to be one of my favorite greens to add into green smoothies, by the way.

And since the #1 most important thing everyone can do to boost nutrition and reduce inflammation is to eat a diet rich in “whole food” fruits and vegetables, drinking a green smoothie is simply the most convenient way to accomplish this goal.

This delicious green apple smoothie seriously taste amazing and takes less than 5 minutes to make. If you have never had a green apple smoothie and don’t have a clue how to make one, don’t you worry. Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 frozen banana, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 Granny smith apple, cored and chopped (do not peel!)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 large handful kale or baby spinach
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 2–3 pitted dates
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 4–5 ice cubes

Instructions

Place all ingredients, except for the ice, in a high-speed blender and process until smooth and creamy. Add the ice and process again. Drink chilled.
