Meet Ivy and Andy

When Ivy was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at the age of twenty-two, she and her husband, Andy, a physician, created an anti-inflammatory nutrition program that has kept her in remission for over twenty years. Together they’ve authored four top-selling books on healthful eating and living, and their Clean Cuisine program has helped tens of thousands of people with all kinds of inflammatory medical conditions improve their health and regain their quality of life.

Ivy has appeared on Good Morning America, Fox News, CNN, Martha Stewart Radio, and The Montel Show and has hosted nutrition, cooking, and fitness segments on Lifetime Television. Her recipes and healthy lifestyle advice have been featured in Time magazine, US News and World Report, Fitness magazine, Life & Style, Oxygen, Woman’s Day, and many others.

Andy is the lead surgeon for JFK Medical Center’s Bariatric Wellness and Surgical Institute. He is part of the affiliate faculty of the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine and has served as president of the Palm Beach County Medical Society. He also chairs Project Access, an organization that has provided more than $13 million in charitable medical care to patients in need in Palm Beach County.

Ivy and Andy live in North Palm Beach with their seventeen-year-old son, Blake.

I definitely attribute my good health to maintaining a Clean Cuisine “whole foods” anti-inflammatory diet. The fact that people compliment me on how young I look for my age is just a side benefit. My motivation has always been to take responsibility for maintaining good health, as much as is within my power, by making smart food choices. Eating right has always made sense to me to promote good health as well as to help prevent health issues in the future. I believe if I didn’t take responsibility with what I put into my body I would be contributing to health issues down the road. The Clean Cuisine program made sense and tasted good and gave me the rationale and understanding of what to eat and why. Now I’m hooked. I’ve been eating this way consistently for the past 6 years and no longer have food cravings or weight concerns. It just simply works!

We began Dr. Larson and Ivy’s anti-inflammatory diet late July 2012. I did not know it at the time, but my husband stopped taking the medication when we started the plan. He still battles from his MS but he has not developed any new lesions. I truly believe the anti-inflammatory diet has helped him stay off MS medications and has helped prevent new lesions from forming.

I am embarrassed and proud to say, I have lost 90 pounds following the anti-inflammatory diet. Many people say I look younger. I was also taking an alpha blocker, a beta blocker and a water pill to control high blood pressure. I no longer have to take any of my medications. My triglycerides have dropped from 174 to 67. This is the healthiest I have been in my life!
