Pre-Workout Breakfast Smoothie Bowl

Pre-Workout Breakfast – This delicious Strawberry Banana Pre-Workout Breakfast Smoothie Bowl is not only delicious, but also quick and easy to make before a workout. Working out later in the day? No worries. This smoothie bowl is also great as a pre-workout snack with phytonutrients, antioxidants and energy-boosting nutrients.

What should you eat right before a workout?

Protein shakes using protein powder and complex carbohydrate whole grain cereal is not the best choice before exercising. But, this easy to digest, fruity Strawberry Banana Smoothie Bowl is one of the best pre-workout meal options.

For many years, exercisers consume either protein or complex carbohydrates before working out. Such as oatmeal or whole grain bread. Yet both protein and complex carbohydrates digest rather slowly. Therefore they do not efficiently transfer calories into much needed quick energy right before a workout.

The best pre-workout fuel is easy-to-digest simple carbohydrates found in nutrient-dense fruits, sprouted whole grains and sprouted seeds.

How to Make the Perfect Pre-Workout Breakfast Smoothie Bowl

There are just a few important items to have on hand in order to make this super nutrient dense and healthy Strawberry Banana Smoothie Bowl.

#1: High Speed Blender

To maintain a healthy diet, a high speed blender is a must have. Having the Luvele Vibe Blender has saved us money and supported our clean eating lifestyle. Since December 2019, we have been using this high speed blender daily — if not, multiple times a day. From mixing the wet ingredients in this Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread, to our Daily Green Smoothie, to make nut milks and more.

With this one high speed blender, you’ll be able to create our own nut butters, blend alternative natural sweeteners (like dates and monkfruit) into a batter. Blend supplements (like flaxseeds and hemp seeds) into a creamy liquid. And of course, blend the brown rice and frozen fruit in this pre-workout smoothie bowl.

#2: Sprouted Whole Grain Brown Rice

We love Lundberg Sprouted Organic Brown Rice because it’s germinated, whole grain brown rice with a shorter cook time and a delicious nutty flavor. You are going to love all the benefits that the Organic Sprouted Short Brown Rice has to offer!

You almost always need to make brown rice before you can assemble a recipe, such as this pre-workout breakfast smoothie bowl. As you know, preparing rice is often the most time-consuming component of making any recipe too.

If you are pressed for time or the mere thought of standing over a pot of rice cooking is discouraging you, I have a perfect solution. Having a rice cooker is a game changer! We LOVE VitaClay multi-cooker/rice-cooker for slow cooking, quinoa, lentil dishes and brown rice!

#3: Frozen Fruit for Creaminess and Antioxidants!

This Strawberry Banana Smoothie Bowl recipe is made with antioxidant and phytonutrient-rich bananas. Be sure that your bananas are ripening on the counter and are starting to have brown spots. This ensures that the banana adds a little sweetness. Then, like we do, just toss those ripened bananas in the freezer so they are ready to make your pre-workout breakfast easier to make.

Simply toss all of the ingredients into a high speed blender, pour it into a bowl and top with chia seeds and granola.

Its the perfect pre-workout fuel for just about any exercise regimen lasting 30-minutes to an hour.

We Love Wyman’s Wild Blueberries and Frozen Fruit Bags

Easy to find in most grocery store chains now, the small but mighty, wild blueberry has a very high total antioxidant capacity (ORAC). In fact, wild blueberries are higher than almost all of the typical fruits and vegetables you see at the grocery store.

Compared to cultivated blueberries, wild blueberries have a considerably higher ORAC value. The higher the ORAC value of a food the more powerful that food is at slowing the aging process, fighting disease, reducing inflammation and preserving health.

I love toppping my pre-workout smoothie with the best – Wyman’s Wild Blueberries and Triple Berry Mix (as pictured).

Why Buy Wyman’s Wild Blueberries?

Wyman’s wild blueberries are the only blueberries we trust here at Clean Cuisine. Within hours of being picked, Wyman’s sorts and cleans their wild blueberries using state-of-the-art technology. This method preserves flavor, quality and antioxidant goodness.

Frozen wild blueberries taste great and once thawed, they can be used just like fresh wild blueberries for a number of different recipes. Wyman’s are available in a number of local grocers – check the frozen aisle.
