Apple Smoothie

If you been around Clean Cuisine for any amount of time, you know I make a lot of blender foods. Which of course include lots of smoothies!

I love the whole concept of putting all sorts of good-for-you ingredients into a blender, pressing a switch and presto!—a delicious, nutritious and easy-to-transport breakfast (or snack) is made in minutes.

When the weather gets a little cooler, I realize the sound of an ice cold smoothie isn’t nearly as appealing.

But that doesn’t mean you need to resort to coffee cake for breakfast! Luckily, apples are the perfect seasonal fruit to enjoy as winter approaches. You can just warm them up and blend them into a smoothie that tastes a whole lot like apple pie. The perfect, quick and easy smoothie with apple recipe!

If you have kids, I promise the Hot Cinnamon Apple Smoothie recipe will be a hit!

Benefits of Apples

Apples are a delicious, yet incredibly healthy and full of health benefits! These benefits are exemplified even more when consuming the entire apple (skin and all) like in this smoothie recipe! Here are just a few of the benefits of apples:

  • Great Source of Fiber: Apples are a great source of fiber, offering nearly 4.5 grams in a medium-sized fruit. Fiber is incredibly important for healthy digestion and “staying regular”, among promoting good gut health! Want more fiber? Eat more apples!
  • Help to Boost the Immune System: Apples contain high levels of nutrients and antioxidants, including quercetin, and Vitamin C! Powerful antioxidants that help to boost your immune system among much more, the saying “an apple a day keeps the doctor away” might not be so far fetched.
  • Full of Flavonoids: Not only are flavonoids great for helping to reduce inflammation, but they may also help to prevent many serious diseases, even having been studied to help lower the risk of some cancers!

Green Apple Smoothie: Green Apple Smoothie is loaded with phytonutrients, anti-inflammatory properties and lots of delicious fruits and vegetables. This is the perfect smoothie with apple to try!

Apple Pie Parfaits: Apple Pie Parfaits are an incredibly easy and sweet alternative to a traditional apple pie. Loaded with nutrients and sweetened naturally.

High Quality Blender is a Must!

Having a high quality blender is one of the most important investments that you will make when eating clean. There is a BIG difference between a classic Ninja Blender that I used for years and a blender system like one of these.

The blades are stronger, the power is better and you will be much more satisfied with your smoothies, soups, pureed vegetables. You can even make your own nut butters, your own nut milks and so much more. These are our absolute favorite blenders.

Don’t Forget the Addition of the Superfood Spice Cinnamon

The fragrant cinnamon is added to my apple smoothie recipe not only for the significant role it plays in boosting flavor, but also for its anti-inflammatory benefits. Like other spices, cinnamon offers a wide variety of disease-fighting phytonutrients that have antioxidant and anti-aging benefits.

Cinnamon contains a variety of super powerful phytonutrients, including the class similar to those found in grapes, berries, cocoa and green tea.

The special type of phytonutrients found in cinnamon have an amazing ability to stabilize blood sugar levels. It can also prevent fat-storing insulin spikes, protect the body from damaging free-radicals. Most amazingly, you will have the ability to “turn on genes” within our body that produce highly protective anti-inflammatory substances.

And if all that isn’t enough to make you want to start putting cinnamon on everything you eat. Then, did you know cinnamon can even boost the appearance of your skin and help protect against premature sun damage?

You can’t just sprinkle on a tdash of cinnamon. You need to get a “therapeutic” dosage—at least 1/4 teaspoon or so—in order to really get the benefits. The apple smoothie recipe has 1/2 teaspoon, so it is definitely enough to make a difference.
